Over a decade ago, in the darkness of night, an infant arrived on the doorstep in a car seat. It was an unassuming beginning to the movement of the Holy Spirit in the hearts and minds of Dawn and her family as they obeyed the conviction that serving orphans included opening their lives and entering the world of foster care. Would the child stay a day? A week? A year? A life? Although the future was uncertain, the journey was underway. At Hearts Encouraged, Dawn will share the story of her family's path through foster care and adoption and the Lord's work in her life as he showed her that his grace is sufficient for her and her family. Dawn is a homeschooling wife, mom, and mom-in-law. Along with her children's education, she has had the privilege to teach middle and high school students in physical science, great books, and Shakespeare. She is a cofounder of the Charlotte Mason Educational Retreat and praises God for the opportunity to encourage families at homeschool retreats across the country. She serves on the board of a small Christian school in Georgia, is taking a college Shakespeare class, and is unpacking boxes from a recent move.
